Polarized lenses

Polarized lenses are used in sunglasses to reduce glare. Through a process called polarization, the reflected light is prevented from overwhelming the eye, much as blinds on your windows keep too much sunlight from entering the room.

Polarized lenses are an excellent choice for people who like to spend time outdoors. Fishermen and boaters have experienced great success with these lenses minimizing the glare off of the water.

There are some limitations to polarized lenses, however. They are not a good choice when viewing computers, as they tend to block brightness and color. While driving, instruments within the car that utilize polarized light, such as the clock, may be temporarily unreadable while wearing polarized lenses.

If you think you may benefit from the use of Polarized lenses, ask your doctor to consult with you and determine if they are a good fit for your lifestyle.
